Dr. Mahdi Salehi added that traditional medicine is very popular in the world, but in Iran and Markazi province as it should not be addressed.

''The use of medicinal plants in the world has been two to three times since 2000 and one of the major programs of the World Health Organization is the expansion of traditional medicine" he added.

Dr. Salehi stated that traditional medicine in countries like Germany and France is more than other countries, and gastrointestinal treatment is two thirds of the population of Spain through traditional medicine.

"Official statistics indicate that many countries in the world have come to the forefront of traditional medicine, but this medicine has not received much attention in Iran and so far no traditional medicine department has been established in any of the country's hospitals" the traditional medicine specialist added.

Dr. Salehi stated that patients in developed countries refer to traditional medical practitioners for treatment first, and if they are not being treated, they will go to other doctors.
Dr. Salehi said that there are many false claimers of traditional medicine in the community that this is a serious injury, and there must be a decisive approach to these people.

Secretary of the Traditional Medicine Association of Markazi province continued" The claim for traditional medicine is different from academic which is rooted in science, and given the serious attention to this medicine; it is possible to reduce the per capita consumption of medicine and its costs in Iran.

"Islamic medicine has similarities with traditional medicine, but there are too many extremes in this medicine that can cause serious harm to patients." He said.
.
Dr. Salehi stated that Ministry of Health and Meidcal Education has communicated special courses of traditional medicine for general practitioners, so far two courses have been held in Arak and Khomein, but the doctors' certificate has not been issued.
